How I came to Vetter
I graduated from high school in Syria and worked as a pharmacist for seven years. However, there wasn’t a standard training that is common and recognized, as there is in Germany. When I came to Germany in 2015, I first worked as a driver and paramedic for the Malteser Federal Volunteer Service.
In 2018, I applied for a job at Vetter in the filling department. I was turned down after the interview because I was just starting to learn German. So, I continued learning German and tried again. I really wanted to work at Vetter. I think they saw my ambition and willingness to learn and I was given another chance: after passing the German test, I was able to start in Visual Inspection. No need to think twice: Of course I accepted!
My persistence and intensive German learning paid off! I’ve now been working at Vetter in Visual Inspection since 2019.

My typical workday
At the beginning of the day, the shift coordinator explains the product that we’re inspecting. I prepare the workstation accordingly. Each product has format-specific inspection procedures and particular nuances that should be taken into account. We use our eyes to check for damage, dirt and foreign particles.
In addition to the "Welcome Event”, new employees receive training to qualify them to perform visual inspections. Here, they learn how to properly perform inspections and are being prepared to detect a wide range of defects. Today, I myself help onboard new employees.
What I like about my job
I appreciate the collegial atmosphere and the fact that you can help other people through your work.
The key to my success
First of all: Don't give up! You should do your work conscientiously and take your job seriously, because it’s all about the well-being of other people. If you embrace this attitude, nothing stands in the way of a future at Vetter.
