Who are you and what do you do at Vetter?
My name is Heiko Holzbaur, I am 28 years old and have been with Vetter since 1 January 2023. I work in the packaging laboratory for the quality control of raw materials.
Why did you choose this job?
The decision was made because the opportunity presented itself. I was looking for new prospects and an acquaintance drew my attention to the job at Vetter.
What did you do before your time with Vetter?
After three years of training, I worked as an operating theatre assistant in hospital for five years. Over the last year and a half, I've felt a growing desire to reorient myself.
How does the application process work?
Very professional, and that means without complications. I applied online on the job platform, then got an interview and finally had my trial sessions here, where I got to know my future team and the environment here. It was all a great fit for me, and I accepted. Anyway, it took less than two months from the first contact to the decision.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
As already mentioned, we test the raw materials that our production department then works with. I myself am part of "Team Rubber", which means that I check objects made from this material, for example stoppers used to seal containers. There are prescribed inspection plans for each form of material, which we work through point by point, scrutinising between 80 and 2000 parts of a batch.
What should people know how to do particularly well in this job?
The ability to concentrate and team spirit are very important. We divide up the tasks in the team ourselves and must be able to rely on each other completely. And when you are working on such a series of tests, you can't lose focus until the last test piece.
What do you find good about your job?
I like the conditions here where I work. My view out the window at the mountains - to the flexitime that benefits my own family. I have recently become a proud father!
What does your team look like?
Very good team spirit, an absolute family atmosphere and a great willingness to help out. I haven't been here long and still have a question or two. I can ask the team at any time and get the right answer.
What challenges does your job bring?
Above all, it is the full concentration that our work simply demands. You must also be able to shake off the tiredness from a night with less sleep.
Why is Vetter a good fit for you?
I live in Ravensburg, and therefore I have been able to literally see how Vetter has grown and grown in recent years. I like working in a company that offers security with its size and, at the same time, can really make a difference.
There are the benefits here at Vetter. Do you use them?
Yes, I take advantage of the company pension scheme, and I have already decided to take advantage of the regional discounts soon when I go shopping.
What's your best experience with Vetter?
It's obvious: that was the moment I got the acceptance letter!
