The 2024 Apprentice Welcome Days: Much in store for aspiring workers
A new chapter, a new company, and new colleagues: At the start of an apprenticeship or dual study program, everything is new and exciting! Every year, to help our budding talents find their bearings and make them quickly feel at home, we run the Apprentice Welcome Days. This year, 63 trainees and dual students from nine professions and six degree programs took part. Among them were pharmaceutical technicians, chemical laboratory technicians, warehouse logistics specialists, mechatronics technicians, industrial clerks as well as mechanical engineering and business informatics students (m/f/d).
The Welcome Days are designed to familiarize students and apprentices with key information and welcome them to the Vetter family; they are also an opportunity for them to connect with each other. This year’s Apprenticeship Welcome Days consisted of two parts:
On the first day, the new recruits were given training on basic essentials such as hygiene and occupational health and safety. They also met with the works council and with management and were introduced to essential work tools like protective clothing and laptops. The first few days were spent in our new Vetter Training Center*, which was made to offer a highly conducive environment for learning and experimenting.
In the second part of the week, we went to the Humboldt Institute in Bad Schussenried. The school was the perfect setting for team-building activities and presentations, which included topics such as "Giving and Receiving Feedback" and "Learning to Learn." The newbies also met the Corporate Health Management team for the first time. Despite the full schedule, the program allowed ample time for students and trainees to network and get to know each other.
Once again, the Welcome Days set the stage for a fruitful time at Vetter. We wish all trainees and students every success!
